Julio Foolio‘s life was tragically taken over the weekend as the rapper was ringing in his 26th birthday. On Sunday (June 23), the Jacksonville artist was shot at a Holiday Inn in Tampa, where three other people also sustained injuries during the incident.
Foolio’s fans were well-fed throughout his career as he dropped projects, loose tracks, viral remixes, and music videos on a very consistent basis. He has shared at least one body of work every single year since 2018, with LPs like 6toven, Never Wanted Fame, Project 6, Top Conniver, Love Me Like I’m Dead, Confidential Thoughts, Life Of Me, and Final Destination making their debuts. His final project was April 2024’s Resurrection.
The 26-year-old’s loyal fans loved him for his storytelling capabilities; Foolio’s records often consisted of him recapping graphic situations, explaining relationships, and more. He rapped with his signature Florida flow and stayed close to his roots with beat selection and collaborations.
As of publication, no suspects were arrested for Julio Foolio’s killing.

The offering is an unofficial remix of Fantasia’s beloved classic of the same name. On the track, Foolio weaves in shots at Yungeen Ace while interpolating some of Fantasia’s original lyrics, rapping, “Went out to eat on his birthday (Six)/ Four shot, three dead in the worst way (Damn)/ He kept dissin’ on me (What happened?)/ Now we smokin’ 23/ You always on my mind, when I ride through the east side, I wanna see you (Six)/ When I see you.”
To make his message crystal clear, Foolio also sampled the audio from News4Jax’s coverage of Ace’s brother’s 2018 death, where a “celebration turned into a tragedy” after a birthday celebration resulted in multiple deaths.
The “When I See You (Remix)” video sits at a whopping 46 million plays on YouTube and is likely to rise even more.

The daring release sees Foolio vividly recounting numerous situations that turned deadly, reciting specific facts for each one. Fans gravitated towards this track for its storytelling and attention detail, as one of the top YouTube comments reads, “How this man remembers every situation is actually crazy and impressive.”
